Rosh Hashanah

I do not propose to know a lot about the Jewish holidays and I really invite my Jewish friends and followers to leave comments to help us listen and learn.

What I have learned about Rosh Hashanah is that is the official start of the New Year and marks ten days of repentance up until the Yom Kippur.

This is a time to renew your declaration of G*d as your King of the Universe, with a sounding of the shofar. The sounding is a cry of repentance.

This is also the anniversary of the Creation of Adam and therefore the the creation of  humankind.

It is a time to pray about and focus about during this time sets the course for your next year.

The celebration of eating apples dipped in honey for a sweet year is one of my favorites. The apple signifies the sweet times that come naturally, or easily, but the honey signifies the sweet things that come from a struggle. The sting of a bee yet the fruit of the sting is the honey. Coming through a challenge with a sweet end. The clouds with the silver linings. These end up even sweeter than the things that come to us easily.

Lexy and I tried the apples dipped in honey as we discussed the lesson and came up with examples in our life. It is a great lesson to teach to generations.

This is just the tip of the subject I am sure, so please interact and comment.

In the forefront of all our minds I'm sure is a prayer for peace. A prayer to keep our families and our militarises safe. A prayer for Christians worldwide to have peace and safety.

Please send me your prayers and anything you want to add about Rosh Hashanah
